RE: Public dump sites or station in Raleigh NC area?

You might try the State Fairground in Raleigh. Right across from the Vet School around Hillsborough street. Great suggestion! I'll go by there this week and see if that's a possibility. One of the RV dealerships has a dump site available, but it's 15 miles away from us and they charge $15.

Public dump sites or station in Raleigh NC area?

Anyone know of any sites in this area, other than Jordan State Park?

RE: jayco g2 32bhds

We own this trailer and pulled it all spring and summer (trying to squeeze in a couple more trips this fall!). We probably spent a total of 20 nights in the TT this season. We live in North Carolina and in addition to in-state outings, traveled to Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas and Michigan. It's great! As with most folks who purchase this trailer, we have three (3) small children (ages 4,6 & 7). The bunkhouse is theirs! And for us the trailer has ample storage (particularly after sub-dividing cabinet space with wire shelving, etc.) My two least favorite features: a) the very small bathroom sink with limited, head-knocking space between it and the medicine cabinet and b)the short queen size bed with no space for walking around at the foot --- no trailer is perfect! We have experienced no peformance problems with the trailer; save a minor floor squeek for winter warranty repair. I have the Equalizer 12K lb. hitch, etc. and pull with my Ford F250 6.0L diesel (3.73 rear-end). I wouldn't want any less truck --- it's a 2004 and performs very well. However, if I was needing a new TV, I would spend time investigating Chevy/Dodge to see how torque has increased with more recent model years. I also use the TruControl brake controller and love it; no problems slowing the big rig. The truck has the shortbed box. However, the combined length of TV and TT may not be for everyone -- particularly if this is one's first foray into towing! I'm a farm kid (now in corporate clothing) and having something this macho to pull is rewarding -- just like the days of pulling stock trailers and grain carts. Although we have made numerous mods, the Bulldog tongue jack and JT's Strong Arm stabilizer bars are the two that have contributed the most to overall enjoyment of the 32 BHDS. My wife might say those are nice mods, but the additional towel bars in the bath and switched-lighting in her pantry and linen closet, eclipse those I mentioned! P.S. These items don't have anything to do with performance of the trailer, but . . . we have a Boyo backup camera (license plate surround mount)feeding into the Kenwood Excelon headunit with Garmin Nav; these two items, combined with the Alpine overhead DVD player have made long trips enjoyable AND possibly saved a marriage (no more arguing about where to turn!). Enjoy the time with your family.

RE: CHEAP Propane!

I had the rig into the Cummins place near Raleigh, NC for service today. I wasn't terribly low on propane, but asked them how much for theirs. 99 cents! Alot better than the $3.50 at the RV park! Not sure I would have gotten the same deal if I had not gotten service there, but just shows it doesn't hurt to ask! I only wish I needed more! Please provide me the name/address of the Cummins place in Raleigh. I live right next door (Cary, NC) and need propane.

RE: Jayco

We purchased the 32BHDS in Feb/Mar of this year from Gillette's RV. Great service; great price! The 32BHDS is absolutely wonderful trailer and fully meets our needs. I think you'll really enjoy the 31. The kids (the younger family -- ages 7,6,and 4) love the bunkhouse and there's still room for the older two when they have a break from college.

RE: Who makes the best power jack in the 3500lbs rating?

The Bulldog we purchased is working well. But with 17" of lift and a rating of 4,000 lbs. (and a 5 year warranty!), the unit appears to have no problems and plenty of torque to lift our Jayco 32BHDS. Don't recall from whom I purchased, but here is a direct link to information Bulldog E-Jack

RE: Jayco 32BHDS towing performance

We are looking to purchase a Jayco 32BHDS JAY FLIGHT - and are looking for others who might have this. We are wondering how heavy it tows. I don't know that I can specifically answer your question; i.e. how heavy it tows. It tows like a 10K lb. TT tows! It's heavy. Our TV is a '04 F250 6.0L with a 12K lb. WD and anti-sway hitch -- we don't have any problems. When pulling, I know the trailer and it's weight are behind us, but the trailer never sways, nor whips when pulling alongside semi-trailers and it certainly sits level when hitched. And the TruControl brake controller functions flawlessly. That said, I certainly wouldn't want any less vehicle for towing this rather large trailer. The three youngest (7,6,4 y.o.) absolutely love "their room"!

RE: Tongue Lock for Jayco Trailer

Okay, this is self-admittedly ignorant, but do most people who steal trailers approach the theft with all equipment that the job might demand; i.e. beyond bolt cutters, acetylene torches, etc. would they also have a spare pin to insert into the safety breakaway module allowing the trailer brakes to disengage? I'm laughing, because the first morning we went to pull out from our camping site following our first overnight in our new trailer, it took me 30 frantic-filled minutes to figure out why I couldn't steal my own trailer since the brakes were locked . . . thank god my wife said, well, what about that brake switch thingy? Popped the pin into the module. Wallah! By the way, if and when I misplace the pin, will cutting, or somehow disconnecting the breakaway module result in a full release of the trailer brake? (sorry for the slight diversion from the core topic, here)

RE: Just bought a new Jayco G2 32BHDS

We have owned ours since mid-March. Three camping trips later, I can tell you we love it! Plenty of room for the three kids and the two of us. We ordered slide-out covers before taking delivery and I've made a few mods since then: shelving, electric jack, MaxxAir vent covers and/or fans on all three vents, additional lighting (12' rope light) inside of pantry perimeter and 12V light in linen closet, extra towel racks and the most recent was the JT's stabilizers . . .. . I think you get the idea! All in all, we think we made the right choice. Congratulations!

RE: Campground suggestion needed around Columbus, OH

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We ended up spending Saturday evening at Cross Creek. What a great location and facility; not to mention the staff. Everything was to our liking. The pads were really soft, but what could one expect following a 22" snow that had completely disappeared in the preceding 4 days?! All in all just what we needed. Our first night in our first trailer was a success. Landed safely back in Cary, NC this evening. Thanks again for you help.

RE: Campground suggestion needed around Columbus, OH

I'll get back to you. We are having a blizzard right now.... No problem. Studded snow tires on the trailer was one of the options I negotiatated -- allows for year-round use! Combined with the snow plow on the front of the 'ol 6.0L F250, we should do fine on our inaugural camping trip in Ohio! :)

Campground suggestion needed around Columbus, OH

Yes, I think it's a bit early to begin camping! However, we live in NC and will be traveling to E. Lansing, MI next weekend to take delivery of our new Jayco 32 BHDS!! :) We need your suggestions and recommendations for a place to stay on the way back; Columbus looks about the right distance before the kids get too restless. Thanks for any help you provide.

RE: Purchase price of 2008 Jayco 32bhds

$21,260. This included some options we didn't even request! And customer service that far exceeded expectations. And, that is no small feat! Mark Holcomb, Gillettes Interstate RV, E. Lansing, MI. We live in NC and are going to pick it up on the 15th. Nobody will work harder to earn your business . . . and I've never even met this guy! All I know is he beat local NC dealers on price AND service . . based on price alone I saved between $600 and $2,000. It was the service I got from Mark at Gillettes that won my business. Good luck!

Jayco 32 BHDS Tongue Hitch Measure

If you happen to own this specific trailer would you please provide me a measurement (with a level trailer) of the distance between the ground and the top of the trailer coupler (what I commonly refer to as "the trailer tongue"). My Equalizer sway control hitch just arrived today, and we are not picking up our trailer until sometime next week. I'm just anxious to "do something" and decided I could busy myself by doing an initial set-up/assembly of the hitch while I wait the many, loooooong days waiting on the trailer; even if it's just prelim and knowingly subject to change once the trailer is actually hitched. Thanks if you can help me stay busy for the next couple of days!

Jayco 32 BHDS Mattress and TV cab dimensions. Help!

If you own a 2008 32BHDS Jayflight G2, would you please provide physical dimensions for the following. Our trailer is ready and waiting for us to arrange pick-up and we would like to gather a few things in preparation for our new arrival! a) the queen size mattress (L X W) in the front bedroom (will regular queen sheets be suitable -- this is our first trailer) b) the L X W of the mattress of the living room hide-a-bed (we decided against the standard j-sofa which we thought was very small, when folded out for sleeping. We are hoping we can supplement the hide-a-bed mattress with some other covering or portable mattress to provide a better sleeping experience, as well as, more sleeping space) c) the height and width (inside-to-inside) of the TV shelf/box in the bunkhouse (we are looking for a TV that will work well in that space) Thanks to any and all, if you can help with this inquiry.

RE: Thoughts on Jayco 32 bhds?

Would someone who already has taken possession of their trailer, please tell me the dimensions (H X W) of the TV cabinet in the bunkhouse entertainment center. Trying to buy a TV for the kids before we get our trailer in the next couple of weeks. What TV have you purchased for yours? Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks,
